Thank you for tuning into the 55th episode of the Wedding Songs Podcast. I am Matt Campbell and today I am going to be talking about the Hot 50 Wedding Songs that were released in September 2021. Just for those first-time listeners, I am not able to play any of the songs due to copyright laws, but if you want to listen to the songs, or read the list, you can do so on our website at MyWeddingSongs.com. Just go to charts, then Hot 50 picks. What I am doing for this list is I am scouring the earth for the top streamed songs on the music charts and picking the best wedding songs out of them. Now our goal is to not play the songs that everybody already knows, but to give you an idea of what is popular right now that you could be adding to your wedding day playlists.
Our list today will be in alphabetical order by song. Let’s go ahead and get started with the first song on the list, “Adore You” by Harry Styles released December 6, 2019. I really love Harry Styles, the former member of One Direction. Maybe someday they will get back together, but this is a great song you can play as a background song during dinner or cocktail hour. Next up; at number two is “All Of My Love” by Charlie Wilson and Smokey Robinson. This is a great duo and R&B legends in the music industry. This makes for another great background song to play during cocktail hour or dinner. The third song on the list is “Astronaut In The Ocean” by Masked Wolf, released January 1, 2019. This is a great Hip-Hop song to play during the party section of your reception, Number four is “Best Friend” by Saweetie and Doja Cat, released January 7, 2021. So it was released this year and is a wonderful party song to play for all of the younger fans in attendance.
At number five is the new R&B song “Blessed”, by Hil St. Soul and Noel Gourdin, released July 16, 2021. This is another background song you could play during cocktail hour or dinner, but you know what, it has a great vibe, I would even play it during the wedding ceremony when all of the guests are being seated. At number six is the new Disco King, The Weeknd with his song “Blinding Lights”, released November 29, 2019. This is a great dance tune that you could have during the party part of your reception. At number seven is one of the greatest or the greatest, K-Pop artists of all time. That is BTS with their new song “Butter”, released May 23, 2021. At number eight are the married couple Ryan Hurd and Maren Morris with their Country song “Chasing After You”, released on February 12, 2021. This song is at the top of many Country charts, and one that you can add to your wedding reception playlist. At number nine is “Cold Heart (PNAU remix)” by Elton John and Dua Lipa, released August 13, 2021. It is really cool because Dua Lipa sings parts of Elton John’s songs, including “Kiss The Bride” and “Rocketman”. At number ten is our first Latin song “Con Calma” by Daddy Yankee and Snow, released January 24, 2019. This is a great party song that you could have during the dancing part of your reception.
At number 11 is a retro Alternative Rock song “Cupids Chokehold (Breakfast In America)” by Gym Class Heros, released February 22, 2005. This is a great intro song you could have, or even as a sing-along song during your wedding dinner. At number 12 is “Dance Monkey” by Tones and I, released May 9, 2019. This is a great dance tune that young and old will dance to.
