Hey everyone I’m Pastor Gary Hoban and welcome to episode 35 of Refinery Life radio /TV.
Our goal here is to release a 2-3 minute video / Podcast each day, designed to challenge you and get you to spend more time with God.
Today we are going to talk about, Protecting yourself.
God promised that when it comes to temptation, He has provided “the way of escape” in 1 Corinthians 10:13
But even before you get to the point you are tempted, there are measures you can take to protect yourself from falling into sin.
First, you have God’s Word, which helps you discern right from wrong.
Reading, listening to, and obeying it will help you resist sin.
Second, you can avoid places and situations where you might be tempted.
Third, you can avoid getting involved with people who might pressure you to participate in sin.
And fourth, avoid allowing your eyes to roam.
Job “made a covenant with his eyes not to look lustfully at a young woman” in Job 31:1
Providing temptation with fewer opportunities to strike is a great way to protect and preserve yourself.
Ask God today to not lead you into temptation today. Ask Him to help you make smart choices about where you go, what you will fill your mind with, and who you spend your time with.

When you spend time with God, your life will change in amazing ways, because God is a Redeemer.
