few years back one of my accts was locked out for seemingly no reason. after calling to find out what happened, the reason they gave involved some policy they had to stop money laundering and terrorist funding. then a couple months later, again for no apparent reason, I was given access again. surprisingly with the proper amount still in there. fuck the Money Changers

and as for the vpn/bank issue, instead of switching on/off everytime, install a browser that you will use for the bank only, go into the vpn settings. there will be an option to whitelist specific applications (usually 'vpn tunnelling' or something to that effect). select your chosen browser and it will bypass the vpn and you can leave the rest of the system protected.
