Andrea Karnes is Senior Curator at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.  She describes her role as a steward for all artists and their work.  She likens pulling together exhibitions to being a lawyer, selecting an argument and defending her position throughout the run of the exhibition.

On this episode we dig in to how Andrea was first exposed to art and how that lead her to a career at The Modern.  She discusses her desire to make art accessible to all and how that lead to exhibitions of such prolific and culturally relevant artists as KAWS, Laurie Simmons and Takashi Murakami.   In our discussion it is evident Andrea is passionate about curating art that is reflective of all museum patrons and it is no more apparent than when she talks of the exhibition she curated with conceptual artist from Mexico.

And our chat concludes with career and life advice and what Andrea hopes for the future.
