Sheykh Efendi is saying to commit sin only as much as you can bear the fire. When you are asking forgiveness, ALLAH swt sends His mercy. He is not asking for gratitude. He wants only obedience from His servants in return. Evaluate your life every day. Tomorrow must be better than today, if you are obeying the orders of ALLAH and His Prophet saws.
