On Wednesday the State House voted along party lines to override Governor Roy Cooper's veto of SB 382 which would shift the oversight of the state board of elections to the office of the State Auditor and would strip other powers away from some of the incoming Council of State Members. This veto override vote has prompted Governor Cooper and Governor-Elect Stein to file a lawsuit against the General Assembly challenging the law as unconstitutional.
