Thousands of Aussies are being urged to check their phones before it's too late, with the planned switch-off of the 3G network later this year.

EFTM's Trevor Long told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the public has been warned off the switch-off for five years, but there's some surprising technical issues that may mean it affects more customers than planned.
