Blake Sorensen had a standout football career in high school at Eden Prairie, where he was named Mr. Football for the state of Minnesota in 2006. Later he continued his success as a linebacker for the Wisconsin Badgers from 2007 to 2011, all while dealing with a deathly nut allergy. In 2016, the UW graduate went back to school to pursue his MBA at Indiana University. It was the first step in Blake's game plan to create his own line of allergy friendly snack products. The hard work paid off when a Kickstarter raised enough funds in a single day for a trial run at a production facility. This led Sorensen to start his Chicago-based company, Blake’s Seed Base in 2018.Here are the timestamps… 0:00 Intro1:45 Why seeds?3:13 Beginning of Blake's business5:54 Challenges of getting into the food businesses11:42 Takeaways from previous careers15:51 Importance of name and branding18:31 From solopreneur to being a boss21:39 Having an advisory board24:15 Dealing with the FDA25:38 Sourcing and manufacturing27:23 Growing and expanding29:16 Selling solutions to problemsCONNECT WITH BLAKE SORENSENWebsiteInstagramFacebookYouTubeSupport the showCONNECT WITH ME HERE:FacebookInstagramLinkedInTwitterTikTokYouTube SUBSCRIBE TO THE PODCAST HERE:Apple PodcastsSpotifyYouTube
