I was recently explaining to a friend why “Houses on the Blockchain” is a nonsensical idea. When they said ”code is law” they omitted ”in the digital world (only)” part. In the physical (real) world, it's (the threat of) violence (a.k.a “kinetic force projection” c.f. Jason Lowery) that is law. Violence is as effective at enforcing law in the digital world as code in the physical world.
