Greetings from my sats-zip-code! Love all the work you guys do! Glad for the mention of Castamatic a few episodes ago (maybe on OO?) because I also see Fountain timestamp issues and Podverse can't queue RSS-Feed episodes so none of the member feed :( but Castamatic works and I figured out Alby, so here we are! Love you guys, hopefully see you in my neighborhood one day! (Noah + JB combo meetup???)

I’m so glad someone else got my Internet Explorer joke. I had been looking forward to making it for almost a year. I wanted to wait longer to make it, but I had to balance waiting with the risk of someone else doing it before me. As for touching some grass, we got 6” of snow over the weekend so I can only just go back to browsing memes and listening to podcasts.

Hello gang, catching up slowly but surely. Question for ya: I currently have 1 phone owned by employer with 2 sims inside, one work and one personal. Pretty soon, I'll be getting another phone for personal use(will likely run Graphene!) and am wondering if anybody out there has transferred in a similar manner. I'd like to export only the messages from Sim 1, but I'm not sure of the best way to go about that. Thanks for the great show, I'm loving the non-stop JB I have with all of this backlog. PS, this is a zip code boost!

Looking forward to hearing more about GiraffeneOS. I'm planning to replace my Pixel 4a later this year when it stops receiving support so I could use some input. One question I would like to hear more about - why doesn't Android Auto work? Seems like it should basically just be DisplayPort + USB? (I'm imagining weird proprietary Google crap but would love to hear if you have details)

@Dark Year Leet in Odense (5240). It is really a series of numbers and not codes. Fun fact, this postNummer in Denmark, directly translated into English is: Eel-Castle East. Although the citizens of this town never think about as such.

I totally agree with the comments about keeping it technical. The healthy stream of humor and technical is the reason I keep coming back. I am fairly new to Linux -- I came over to LUP whenever Tech Snap was archived and have been learning a little more and a little more each week. I've been dabbling and finding ways to leverage Linux at work the past several years. Keep up the great work and never be afraid to go deep. We love it!

Yaaaarrrrrg. Lovely. I earned that nick cuz it's my name backwards(ish) + I had a VW R32 car I loved so much. Bonus that it's a call back to all things 32-bit, and sounds like of pirate-y and is fun on TLAP day. FYI Folding@Home is a legit citizen science project from Stanford that helps research diseases like cancer and anyone can pitch in to help. Better use of my GPU than SETI@home was, I think.

long time lurker, first time booster here (SAT amount is half of my Dutch ZIP code). Please keep "newbie" content available, even if it is just a remark here or there. I notice that the younger sysadmins or programmers don't know or remember the "old" stories or don't have knowledge we (older people) take for granted. Apparently there are still enough people who need a proper onboarding ;-)

Enjoying the show as usual and nice to hear from Brent in Berlin - a few days late. He is half way to Bangalore, India, where I am. Any plans for visiting this part of the world? Thank you for the show and hope Brent is enjoying Tumbleweed as I am. Take care all.

Ok I'll let you all in on the joke, internet explorer (the browser) had a reputation for always being slow, so much so that a month after the Oscar's a meme came out with the IE logo saying "great news guys, Leo won an oscar!". Someone please boost in and say you know what I'm referencing so I don't have to go outside and touch grass.

On the basic vs. technical stuff, a mix is nice. I'm still learning and appreciate the simpler stuff from time to time. I get great knowledge and ideas from the more technical shows but if that was all you did I'd probably burn out. Damn it Spock, I'm human not a machine!

This may be a boost better suited for Office Hours, but I wonder if there is/could be a way to use Nextcloud as a source of truth, or backend CMS for your RSS feeds & JB Website
