After winning gold in Rio in 2016, Helen decided to hang up her rows, step away from rowing, and start a family.She now has 3 children, but the Covid-19 pandemic and the lockdown brought on a change in perspective. And despite not having stepped foot in a boat since Rio four years earlier, Helen decided to take a shot at a third Olympics in Tokyo.What happens next is incredible. Not because I want to start rowing or because I want to be a leading sportswoman, but because this episode is really about taking our dreams very seriously as mothers. And I think that is something we don’t do enough.It is being really intentional about the trade-offs we are willing to make for the big things we want to do in life.I ask her at the end what is harder: training for the Olympics or motherhood.
