To be honest, I've been getting some boost fatigue too. Not because I dislike "crypto". Mostly because of boosts getting missed or nodes being down. I know it's still early days, but it's a bit frustrating. I also think that if you read a boost and attach someone's name to it as if you're quoting them, you should read it exactly without paraphrasing. That might just be a small pet peeve of mine that nobody else has. I still listen to everything JB, but I might slow down boosting for a bit.

It's easy to dismiss REHL when 99.99% of distros are Hannah Montana. I don't think any amount of sats should automatically get a message into a show. It should just be based on the quality of the comment. You shouldn't be able to advertise your own thing for 1000 sats for example. Maybe not mentioning the amount on air or not talking about sats at all would help. I remember you talking about that with the bitcoin dad. BTW I think you missed some boosts from the last LUP.

I am very much NOT tired of the boosts! Nor of the sound bytes! I very much enjoy them! I just haven't been boosting as much because this summer has been insanely busy for me! Fountain is getting better and better as a podcast player, many of the early bugs I have been sorted out. Are there chapter markers set for the beginning and end of the boosts? If people are tired of them, they could just skip them.

You guys get it! "crytpo" = scam. Those initial feelings of distrust is a healthy sign of a critical mind. 👍

Fun fact you have to be invited to a matrix space to enjoy it. so unless you provide a link to it on your site or something I can't reach it. I CAN browse the rooms of your server in app, but its not as great imo

It's certainly true that someone with very few sats, not enough to meet the minimum, could have something interesting to say. For those bringing up that very real issue maybe we as a community can correct that? Read through the boosts from the last episode and do a reply boost to any low sat ones you agree with or want to make sure get on the show? I'd argue that in itself is adding value above just the sats by helping ensure the really good thoughts this community regularly has are expressed.

Was checking out some of your shows to see if I was competent enough to make some of my podcasts fully self hosted (I'm not lol) and came across this spicy title. Seemed contradictory at first but I believe you're right, BTC is the only cryptocurrency, all the rest are crypto 'things'. Love the shows and your adoption of the V4V model, it also inspired me to create a whole show around it called .... 'Value For Value' 🤣

I do have a question. You mention that the boosts have a spilt that goes to Brent. How about the sat streams? does that get split with Brent as well? Since I haven't been boosting, I have been making sure my sat streaming is turned on

As for feedback: My feelers on the bitcoin/crypto vs boosts is that some are wary of KYC and others take the whole of "digital currencies" as funny money that exists in the ether and they "cant physically touch" Just my two sats. Thanks again for the amazing content, C U Next Boost

Getting involved with crypto in general is hard and I don’t trust things that make it easier.
