You might like Murray Bookchin (you may hate him ;-) He's an anarco-environmentalist who talked about how humans project their philosophy onto the natural world. The native americans saw nature as groups of rival tribes, the woolves, jackels, etc. Our current market driven society see it as brutal, kill-or-be-killed, survival of the fittest. I like to look at ecosystems. Ecosystems expand and contract, every piece plays a role.
