With the rise in popularity of mental health services in a post-COVID world where folks are more willing to acknowledge these sorts of struggles, many are familiar with the challenge of finding a therapist. This can prove especially difficult for those who fail to see their lived experience reflected in the mental health providers available to them. For example, it’s estimated that only 4% of therapists in the U.S. are Black, Indigenous and people of color.
