Coach Tom Ryan is the head wrestling coach at the Ohio State University and in 2015 captured the program’s first national championship. His career as both a coach and wrestler is elite. He was part of two NCAA national championship teams at Iowa as a wrestler and has coached six different Buckeyes to 12 individual national titles, including four-time champion Logan Stieber and Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder (three-time NCAA champ). In this episode, Coach Ryan shares some funny stories about what his uncle would do each time he won a wrestling tournament as a kid, the Youtube video of him “freaking out” when one of his wrestlers won the NCAA title, and how winning a championship at Ohio State changed his life. Also, Coach Ryan shares his incredible story of personal tragedy when his son, Teague, suddenly died at the age of five.
