Martinique Lewis is a Diversity in Travel Consultant who works tirelessly to ensure that diversity is not just a buzzword in the travel industry. She blogs at MartySanDiego.com, where she is the creator of the Diversity in Travel Report Card holding the industry to a higher and more transparent standard. Marty has been working with tourist boards and travel brands for years, first for free and today as one of the co-founders of the recently-formed Black Travel Alliance. The mission of the Black Travel Alliance is to support Black content creators around the world and increase their representation in the travel industry, including but not limited to employment, conferences, and media.In this interview, Marty discusses her own path in the travel industry, who in the industry currently scores highly on her diversity in travel report cards, and the future of black travel post-pandemic and hopefully post-paradigm shift as a result of the Black Lives Matter movement. She also gives us a list of over 20 Black content creators to follow off the top of her head - she is an amazing resource and connector.
