• Megaphone has overtaken Triton Digital’s Omny Studio as the #4 biggest podcast host, according to total episode share in August measured by Livewire. Spreaker continues to take more episode share at #2; Spotify for Podcasters is still #1, though has lost almost a quarter of its market share this year.
• Podtrac is now measuring over 14% of all new episodes, another record for the company, says Livewire. The second-largest, Chartable, slipped down to 6.7% last month. Chartable’s analytics was down for almost three weeks, but its analytics dashboard has now been restored.
• Both Spotify and Apple Podcasts saw increase in download share for Buzzsprout shows last month. (Pocket Casts has almost doubled year-on-year.) iOS has increased over Android: possibly a knock-on effect from the end of Google Podcasts.
