This is a short episode inspired by The Angry Therapist podcast by John Kim. A huge influence in the wellness space. Jared breaks down a recent story and some self-reflection and self-criticism on what it means to live in the tension between blaming your actions on your diagnosis( bipolar in his case) and the movement of thought that says we need to take responsibility for our actions. At the 11 minute mark he asks you the audience, "What do you think?" Do you struggle with this or do you know someone who does?
Bipolar is a journey and it can be a challenge to articulate how you feel at times and making excuses in response to your symptoms doesn't quite feel right and seems to make less room for growth and compassion but are we influenced by the disease model more than we think?
