A team of specialists at Emory University will never forget August 2, 2014. That's the day Kent Brantley, an American missionary based in Liberia, became the first of four patients with the Ebola virus to arrive at its Atlanta facility. The eyes of the world watched as the Serious Coummunicable Diseases Unit (SCDU) — in hazmat suits, successfully treated Brantley and three other patients with the highly infectious disease.
