California has endured a brutal heat wave to kick off the month of September, taxing
the state's grid with record breaking temperatures that took us to the brink of rolling
blackouts. Some cities actually experienced power cuts. This was the longest and hottest heat wave California has ever seen in September, and it's not likely to be the last.
The strain of state's power supply came even as more and more Californians give up their gas guzzlers for electric cars. This comes just days after the state adopted new rules that that will phase out new gas powered vehicles by 2035. We were asked not to charge our EV's during the afternoon and evening hours of peak demands. So what will happen when everybody is driving an electric car down the road?
