As a user I would rather control what I pay the apps rather than they take from the Podcaster off the top. That's the only way it's transparent. Apps should inform the user what they're taking as soon as the wallet is set up.

For non-premium users Fountain adds a 5% fee on top of the splits. We do this to preserve the numerology of the Boosts - so if you send 100 sats - 100 sats will go to whatever is in the splits - and then we add an extra 5 sats for the fee that is shown in the transaction history as visually distinct from the splits along with a prompt to premium. For podcasters using our Podcsster Wallet we also charge a 1-4% fee which will appear in the splits as it’s on the podcaster side.
