Democrats now seem poised to retain control of the US Senate, but still lose control of the House. Their outlook has improved; instead of a blowout loss with the GOP gaining 30 or 40 seats, it now looks like a narrower victory for the Republicans, with perhaps 15 or 20 seats flipping, but that would be enough to give McCarthy’s party the gavel.
