In January, Birmingham City University launched the world’s first and only Centre for Brexit Studies. So of course, we had to bring on the centre's head and the director of research at BCU’s Business School Alex de Ruyter to give us his take on what academia can add to the Brexit debate.

We discuss the importance of inter- and multidisciplinary study of a subject as multi-facetted as Brexit and how the centre hopes to work with the government, businesses and ordinary citizens to share its research and insight.
