Tan finds himself in the spooky surrounds of Suffolk town of Bury St Edmunds during the English Civil War it isn’t long before Witchfinder Matthew Hopkins and Tan are locked in a battle of words to decide whether witches really exist and to test whether Tan is himself a practitioner of the dark arts. But predictably things quickly take a turn for the worse and become physical. Will Tan be burned at the stake for being a witch? Can he convince the pitchfork wielding locals to turn on the Witchfinder General, and will science overcome magic and superstition? Listen to find out.
