John Schneider has had an incredible career in entertainment that spans over 4 decades. He is an actor, director, filmmaker, country music artist, and now owns his own movie production studio called John Schneider Studios in Holden, Louisiana.  In this episode, John Schneider shares some amazing stories with Kevin + Steph, including how he lied during his audition for The Dukes of Hazzard, how fans come up to him to share stories of wrecking their cars trying to jump the train tracks and John’s hilarious start in entertainment as a magician.  As an actor, John got his first big break at age 18 when he was cast as Bo Duke on the iconic TV show, The Dukes of Hazzard. That show on CBS in 1979 became a HUGE hit and eventually the #2 watched show on television after Dallas. He then went on to play many other roles on TV including Jim Cryer on Tyler Perry’s The Haves and the Have Nots (a flagship series on OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) and the #1 primetime cable series on Tuesday nights), and Jonathan Kent (Superman’s dad) on The WB turned CW’s Smallville. In the music industry, John Schneider has had four #1 chart-topping songs as a country music artist with 25 albums to his credit, including Walk a Mile in My Shoes, which he performed on the 2018 finale of Dancing with the Stars after personally competing on the show for seven weeks. He has also released two Christmas albums, including Home For Christmas with Dukes of Hazzard co-star Tom Wopat. AND as a philanthropist, John fills his free time with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which he co-founded in 1983 with Marie Osmond and has since raised more than $7 billion dollars for medical research and community awareness of children’s health issues, which is distributed directly to a network of 170 children’s hospitals.
