Carl Friese/The Village Corner Since 1974, The Village Corner, German Restaurant & Bakery has been owned and operated by The Friese family who moved to the United States from Munich and Hamburg, Germany. Originally began as a wholesale bakery with a small additional luncheon room, the popularity of Hilde’s extraordinary cooking and baking afforded the restaurant to grow where it is today. Carl, son of Claus and Hilde, is the Executive Chef. A graduate of Johnson & Wales Culinary School, Carl also holds a masters in the art of fine cuisine. Don Britt/Summit Chase Country Club Summit Chase Country Club is a family business that has been operating since 1980. A fun and family-oriented facility that offers golf, tennis, dining, special events, and more. They are not a traditional country club. Summit Chase is conveniently located off U.S. Highway 78, just 2 miles east of downtown Snellville. The Club is easily accessible from most areas of Gwinnett County including Snellville, Lawrenceville, Grayson, Lilburn and Loganville, as well as portions of Dekalb, Rockdale, and Walton Counties.
