Congresswoman Jackie Speier made bomb shell political news last month when she announced that she would retire from congress at the end of this term a year from now.
This week she endorsed her chosen successor state assembly member Kevin Mullin of South San Francisco, former Mayor and city councilmen and South city, and then elected to the state assembly. Mullin has already collected the endorsements of a long list of local and statewide elected wide officials including State Attorney General Rob Bonta and that all makes him a prohibit favorite now to win Speier's seat and represent the Peninsula and a slice of San Francisco depending on how the final district maps are drawn in the next congress.
For more, KCBS Radio Political reporter and host of this segment, Doug Sovern spoke with Assembly member Kevin Mullin.
