The indoor mask mandate is back for much of the Bay Area, as seven counties and the City of Berkeley order today that everyone wear masks in indoor public places to stop the spread of the Delta Variant of COVID-19.
That new mandate applies to all, vaccinated or unvaccinated.
At least ten California counties have similar rules now, although there is no mandate statewide, just a strong recommendation.
For more on today’s announcement, KCBS news anchor Margie Shafer and KCBS Political Reporter Doug Sovern spoke with Dr. Vinay Prasad, an oncologist and hematologist and associate professor of epidemiology and biostatistics at UCSF.
