Vadim Gladyshev is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Center for Redox Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital, and Associate Member of the Broad Institute. Mahdi Moqri is an NIH Postdoctoral Fellow in Aging Research at the Sebastiano Lab at the Institute for Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine at Stanford, and a visiting scholar at the Gladyshev Lab at Harvard Medical School. Biomarkers of aging are critically important tools in achieving these objectives over realistic timeframes. Here, we advance a framework for characterizing and assessing biomarkers of aging, including consensus terminology for several key concepts in this space.
