Justice Breyer is from San Francisco, he went to Lowell High School, he was a contemporary of Jerry Brown, he was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Bill Clinton 28 years ago. Retiring, at age 83, opens up one of the three remaining seats in the court’s liberal wing.
