“T’it’elem Spath”, Eddie Gardner is a Stó:lō Elder from the Skwah First Nation, an elder-in-residence with University of the Fraser Valley, a defender of Wild Salmon, knowledge keeper, and protector of the Halq’eméylem language.
Eddie Gardner graduated from University of Prince Edward Island with a Bachelor of Arts in 1972. He has worked for over 10 years to ensure Wild Salmon do not go extinct. As well, he has worked with other Indigenous leaders to try to keep the Halq’eméylem language alive and ensure it is practiced. Mr. Gardner further works to ensure Sweat Lodge ceremonies are continued in the Fraser Valley.
