Negotiations continue in Washington to try to craft a version of the mammoth spending bill that is acceptable to both progressive Democrats and the two moderate Senators, who say the $3.5 trillion plan costs too much
Meanwhile, those progressives are holding up passage of the ONE trillion dollar infrastructure bill, until a compromise can be reached
Progressive members of the House have been meeting with President Biden, steadfast in their insistence that key spending measures remain in that larger bill, and that the two bills be passed together. Among those progressive Democrats is Representative Barbara Lee of Oakland, who met with the president again at the White House this week.
