What happens, on a visceral level, if you defy Vladimir Putin? In his first Australian media interview from prison since being jailed last year, one of Russia’s most high profile dissidents has been able to give us the answer.  Ilya Yashin is a two-decades-long veteran of Russia’s anti-Putin opposition. A former leader of the People’s Freedom Party, he rose to prominence during mass protests against fraudulent elections, and Putin’s return to presidency. More recently he has spoken out against the Ukraine war.
