Kevin McGovern is a baseball player. He's a left-handed pitcher and a Philly guy, he went to high school at Archbishop Ryan and college at Thomas Jefferson University in East Falls. And for the last decade he has been moving all over the country and beyond, playing ball in independent minor leagues, with teams not affiliated with any Major League squad. That is a long time to be chasing your dream. But things changed earlier this month for the 32-year-old McGovern, when he was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals organization. He's spent the last couple weeks with their Double A team in Springfield, Missouri, the Springfield Cardinals.
