In today's credit-fueled economy, we often see people living paycheck-to-paycheck for a variety of reasons. Because our money isn't hard, people are eager to spend dollars because it is equivalent to a melting ice cube.
This is quite problematic because savings are critical for a successful economy, but how can one save when the money is fake? If you know it will be worth less tomorrow, then spend it now!
So we spend, spend spend - and when we lose a job we don't have an emergency fund to cover us.
Today's day and age of easy money has created a situation where savers are losers and debtors are winners. This is backward of a wealthy economy where savers are winners and debtors are losers.
