At this point in the storyline, Jesus is moving intentionally and methodically towards the cross. Yet, even as the major storyline unfolds, there are meaningful smaller stories along the way—stories that reveal the nature of Jesus’ work. These include two scenes in Jericho where Jesus heals the blind and transforms the life of Zacchaeus. Zacchaeus’ experience with Jesus shows that Christianity moves into unlikely places with transforming results.
