Taking a little detour from Bitcoin history, and into Trigger-territory this week.

My latest article, is the first I've done in a LONG time that is not Bitcoin-centric, but life & philosophy centric.

I'm tired of all the "Ego death" myopia out there, spouted by faux philosophers like Ryan Holiday and their brainless acolytes who are simply empty vessels, easily influenced by vague platitudes like "no suffering & no self".

In this essay, I make the case for the necessity of the Ego, and suggest that you as a human, alive with a mind, body & soul, pay this ancient, emergent construct of nature (or gift of God), some respect.

Your Ego is your Character and your Personality.
"Ego Death" is nothing to proud of, nor something top be pursued. If that's your life's mission, you're an immature moron.

I hope this is triggering for those with fragile Egos, and for those who have the strength of character and fortitude of Ego, I hope you find it an argument with merit.

I read one of Ryan Holiday’s books a while ago called “Trust Me I’m Lying”, which I thought was actually a good book on how propaganda works in the mainstream media. But I disagree with his idea that ego is the enemy. Ironically, a lot of people who think they need to destroy their ego end up making an ego out of not having an ego. The ego should be refined and integrated, its not some prison that has to be broken out of or destroyed.

Ryan holiday is a good writer but the perfect example of a turd with a malformed, who is great at parroting other peoples good ideas, but living to the contrary. Can’t stand that moron 🤣

I read this but I appreciated your commentary at the end. this was good timing for me as I am on the "ego death" rabbit hole currently. I think your take is compatible with what I have been exploring, but I like your framing better than "ego death". for me it's been about having the humility to learn but having the strength to not give a fuck what others think when you have conviction. ego strength > ego death

Yeah I think the entire disrespect towards ego has led us toward clown world. Character is an integral part of Ego and Strong Character are what the world is lacking. We must forge strong ego’s in order to salvage what is left of civilisation

Thank you for this signal. Ego is only a problem for those who lack the frame to keep it from making them sociopaths. It’s easier to destroy the ego than to build the frame.
