Despite 70 years of history, offshore keelboat yacht racing only gathered momentum at the Southport Yacht Club in the past decade. The Southport Yacht Club is located on the edge of the Broadwater at Main Beach, near Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia.
