This group was formed to not only promote the hotels and businesses in the city, but to create a sense of community. The original five members were appointed by Snellville City Council and the DDA ( Downtown Development Authority) and soon became a nine member board of directors. STAT works to improve the community in many ways. STAT produces numerous events throughout the year, including the Snellville Beach Blast, Star Spangled Snellville, the Snellville Fall Festival, and the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony. The Snellville Farmer’s Market provides an opportunity for area residents to purchase fresh produce, meat and more each Saturday from June through September. The Snellville Commerce Club works to promote the city’s businesses by hosting regular lunch meetings and special events. STAT also publishes a quarterly magazine, Snellville Spirit, which highlights the community, its businesses and its events. Sauers has spent 25 years leading and/or consulting with visual communications and marketing related organizations. Ryan is President/Owner of the consulting firm, Sauers Consulting Strategies; Our Town Gwinnett Magazine (2 monthly magazines); and its parent company End Resultz Media.
