5 Pieces of Advice Sweeter Than Candy - #248
I've been home from my two-year mission trip for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 5 years now! Time truly is flying away.
With that said, I feel I have gotten WAY too lax in my systems and WAY too hard on myself (instead of the other way around!). Honestly being hard on my systems and lax with myself sounds like the dream.
I thought I'd make an episode giving myself some advice. This is kind of more for me but if it is helpful for others than that is wonderful. :)
1. Build the Systems You Want to Be Your Lifeline - 5:23
Dallin you are able to make amazing systems. You know how it's done. By sticking to them they will become stronger. Embrace them for they are your lifeline.
2. STOP Putting on the Hat of Worry - 7:42
Dallin the Hat of Worry doesn't serve us. You've never created something useful from wearing it. Put on the hat of encouragement, acceptance, joy, appreciating the moment, etc. instead. You got this.
3. Write. Write. Write! - 11:53
Dallin you have gotten nowhere close to your potential with writing. So you need to keep on writing. The times I have felt the most in control of my life were times I was writing consistently and intentionally... so let's get back on it.
4. Wear Flip-Flops More - 15:47
Dallin your flip-flops remind you of the beauty in the simple things. Spend more time wearing them. They remind you of your time in Orlando and the life you would like to be living in the next couple of years. Wear your flip-flops and chill a bit more.
5. Play More Basketball - 18:40
Dallin basketball has taught you much about momentum and you enjoy it! Why aren't we playing more basketball? It doesn't make much sense to me. I see myself putting a lot more time into that. You're going to join a basketball team this winter so yeah man enjoy that!
Overall yeah I'm astounded that another year has gone by and I have high hopes for this next one. Looking forward to continuing to learn and grow, and seeing where I go from applying all of this stuff.
