On their way to the 1996 NCAA Championship, the Kentucky Wildcats sported one of the most distinctive uniform kits in modern NCAA basketball history – the so-called “denim blues.” Though the Kentucky denims now land a spot on nearly every credible list identifying the top Wildcat uniforms of all time, the novel look was not so enthusiastically received upon its debut in 1996. In fact, it was almost universally panned.
