As more states restrict and even ban abortions, a doctor from San Francisco is about to launch a new approach, for women who can’t access the care they need.
In this case, we mean launch literally, as she plans to bring a floating reproductive health clinic to the Gulf of Mexico.
For more, KCBS Radio news anchors Patti Reising and Bret Burkhart, as well as Doug Sovern, KCBS Radio political reporter and host of this segment spoke with Dr. Meg Autry, an OB/GYN who is a professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Gynecologic Surgery at UC-San Francisco. She is the Director of Continuing Medical Education and Faculty Development there, and has come up with this idea, to launch PRROWESS, a ship in federal waters to provide legal abortion, contraception and other services for women who can’t get that in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama.
