Mike Fitch is a movement coach and personal trainer who realized that while lifting weights can build a strong body, too much could cause injuries. In an effort to find a way to strength train with a lower risk of injury, Mike began experimenting with different types of bodyweight exercises. Starting with gymnastics and evolving into parkour, hand balancing and even break dancing, he ultimately developed a method of bodyweight exercise based on how animals move, hence the name Animal Flow.
Flow refers to a psychological state where you are immersed in an activity and focused only on the present moment which is a perfect name for a challenging system of exercise using only bodyweight movements.
