May 2013 was the end of the hardest time of my life. I was in the worst episode I had ever experienced. I was suicidal all day everyday. The story that started this podcast has a 10 year milestone. I almost died from trying to overdose on May 6, 2013 and on May 9, 2013 I came out of the coma. I believe God saved my life and this whole month I am celebrating Mental Health Month and my ten year anniversary of being alive.
My first guest for this month is Eric Hanson. I met Eric at the House of Prayer in Kansas City in 2010 and we have been friends ever since. Eric lives in Oregon with his wife Becca and they are also having a baby in August! So excited for him.
We dive into Eric's journey with anxiety as a teenager and how he managed to get off of medication and learn others ways to cope. We also get into faith and how to change the way we think and what we think about.
