This was recorded on a cloudy spring afternoon just above the base of Mount Shasta in a stand of old growth trees near Squaw Valley Creek, Shasta-Trinity National Forest, Siskiyou County, California. The creek was not far away, though out of sight in it's steep gully, with massive conifers towering overhead and light wind blowing through the trees.  There is some air traffic on this recording.
