Episode 39 - Stephanie invites you deep into Matthew chapter 8, for what appears like a laundry list of unlikely Kingdom citizens. Lepers, Roman heathens, women, cowards, and even former zombies.

Jesus definitely calls a motley crew to His Kingdom. It's not about ability or breeding, it's about faith and trust in Him as Messiah. And that is very good news indeed!

We've covered a lot of ground alongside Matthew since we started, 39 episodes ago. The finish line is almost in sight.

The last few episodes since Easter took us to the Transfiguration, where we beheld the King of our Kingdom. Then we listened as He set the "constitution" for His Kingdom in the Sermon on the Mount. And now, over the next two episodes, we will get to know our fellow brothers and sisters in the Kingdom, our fellow citizens. After an interview for Episode 41, we will end our time in Matthew by listening to how Jesus Himself describes the kingdom to come. We will do so, through the parables. 

In this episode, Stephanie mentions several times the episode about the messianic miracle when Jesus healed a leper (Matthew 8:1-4). It is the starting point that sets forth the chain of events that led to the establishment of the Kingdom.
