You may have heard on KCBS about the new ad campaign in San Francisco’s Tenderloin and SOMA neighborhoods, to call attention to the fentanyl crisis on the City’s streets. People who have worked for years in those neighborhoods are fed up with what they see as a lack of action by City Hall.
Among those supporting the “That’s Fentalife” campaign is Del Seymour, a longtime Tenderloin activist who originally led walking tours through the neighborhood to highlight what was good about it. He then founded Code Tenderloin, which runs a range of programs to help people in the area. He is also co-chair of San Francisco’s Local Homeless Coordinating Board. KCBS political reporter Doug Sovern spoke with Del Seymour, along with KCBS Radio's Bret Burkhart and Patti Reising
