Welcome to Season 2 of Our Foundations. This episode serves as a general introduction to the ideas and structure of Season 2. The short version- history can be cyclical in ways and can be very helpful when assessing and understanding current and future events. There is a direct parallel between our modern times with the rise of the internet, Big Tech, the modern State, anti-establishment movements, dominant international corporations, etc. and the historic period of the late Middle Ages, Renaissance, and Reformation with the printing press, the historic Church, Christendom, the Reformation, feudalism, and other aspects. Season 2 will begin with some guest hosts of other podcasts in relevant fields coming on to cover these themes with me from their respective perspectives and then the rest of the season will consist of me expounding on specific parallels and correlations.
