How to top up your Fountain Wallet

Add funds to your Fountain wallet with Lightning or a bank card, and understand the fees and limits for each option.

You can top up your Fountain wallet with either Lightning or a bank card.

Deposit With Lightning

In Wallet, tap Send and then Deposit with Lightning. Fountain will generate an invoice that you can pay from another Lightning-enabled app such as Coinbase, Cash App, or Strike.

  • Fees: Very low network fees apply and are shown in the wallet you pay from
  • Min/max amounts: Minimum 1,000 sats and maximum 600,000 sats

You can also deposit by paying your Fountain Lightning Address from any wallet that supports Lightning payments.

Deposit With Bank Card

In Wallet, press Fund Wallet and choose Deposit with Bank Card. You will be taken to MoonPay, Fountain's payment processing partner.

  • Fees: 4.5% processing fee, with a minimum of $3.99 / EUR3.99 / GBP3.99, plus a dynamic network fee
  • Min/max amounts: The minimum top-up amount is $30. The maximum depends on the current bitcoin price

Receipts are issued after two blockchain confirmations, so it may take around 20 minutes before your sats appear in your wallet. While the payment is processing, the transaction will show as pending. After two confirmations, it will change to confirmed.
