Today I'm talking to Colleen Barry in Boston Mass, the CEO of Gibson Sotheby's International Realty, the premier real estate brokerage firm of eastern Massachusetts. In 2001, post 911, Colleen was looking for job, any job that would pay anything. As fate would have it, she landed a job answering calls in a real estate office and that is what got her into real estate. Had you considered he experience and resume, no real estate experience, to say she would become the CEO of the same firm would be as ridiculous as saying she’s going to win the lottery. Collen with a great state of mind honed on opportunity and serving others. Colleen quickly harnessed opportunity or better, it harnessed her leading her to a promotion to Marketing Assistant to Director of Productivity to Real Estate Coach to he role today as the CEO of the same firm. When Colleen was hired as CEO of Gibson SIR, it about 4 years ago and they had only 8 offices. Today Gibson Sotheby’s International realty is 24 offices and growing. Colleen was never a real estate agent and yet she has been in the business for just over 20 years and grown hundreds of real estate agents to greatness. She and I talk about how she did it and how she does it.3:42 - How Colleen went from answering calls to CEO 12:20 - Stepping stones of Colleen's career 16:00 - The challenges and transformation to powerhouse CEO 20:04 - The common denominator of real estate agents who dominate 22:14 - What's "the missing part" when real agents aren't succeeding 24:21 - Colleen's philosophy that brought her success 32:12 - The success of others, what it means to your career 34:32 - Colleen's mindset shift 39:22 - A story of learning 44:30 - Your two jobs as a leader 54:59 - The Final 3 People/Resources Mentioned-Larry RideoutMatthew Ferrara Max DublinPaul McGannJordan PetersonRyan J.
